During an in-office visit, our team will review options to help optimize your hormones and complete extensive lab work to ensure you are a good candidate for BioTE pellet therapy. Once a treatment plan is complete, you can schedule an in-office insertion procedure. The insertion site, usually around the upper buttocks, is numbed and a small incision is made where the hormone pellet is inserted. The pellet is roughly the size of a grain of rice and dissolves over time leaving nothing behind. As the hormones are absorbed by your body based on blood flow, your dosage stays consistent as you need it. While you may see improvement in as little as four weeks after insertion, full optimization can take up to six months.
BioTE is proven to help with physical, mental and emotional symptoms of hormone imbalance such as:

How Often Is BioTE Pellet Insertion Needed?
As each patient’s symptoms are unique, so are their treatment plans. On average, a new pellet will be needed every 3 to 6 months.
How is BioTE Different From Other Hormone Therapies?
There are several delivery options for hormone replacement such as creams, gels, patches and pills and pellets. Some advantages of BioTE pellets are the lack of transfer to others or clothes that you would see with creams or gels. BioTE pellets also don’t require daily maintenance as they’re delivered to your body consistently as your body needs it for 3-6 months. Pearl Women’s Center can help you determine which treatment options may be best to match your needs and lifestyle.
What Are Bio-Identical Hormones?
Bi-identical hormones are plant based and professionally compounded to be biologically identical to the body’s naturally produced hormones Estradiol and Testosterone.
