A LIFE ALTERING SURGERY

    FOR RELIEF FROM CHRONIC DISCOMFORT

Breasts that are too heavy and not in proportion to your frame and stature can be a burden. Clearly out of balance with your body, large breasts cause back and neck discomfort, lead to grooving in the skin of your shoulder, and often cause rashes in the deep folds under the breasts. With the passing of years and the stretching of skin these problems worsen. Women who have undergone breast reduction surgery often proclaim “I wish I had done this sooner!”

Our approach

Breast reduction surgery is individualized to the needs of each patient. The incisions are made around the areola (dark part of skin around the nipple) and down the front of the breast from the areola to the fold underneath the breast. In cases of larger breasts, an incision is made along the fold underneath the breast in order to enhance the final shape. The nipple is never removed from the breast. The excess breast tissue and skin are removed and the new breast is reshaped.

After the surgery

You will immediately note an improvement of many of the symptoms that were bothering you before your surgery. You will look thinner and note better balance. It will be easier to buy and wear clothes. Your breasts will appear more attractive and youthful. This is a life changing surgery that you will appreciate every day, not to mention how enjoyable bra shopping can become!

How we do it differently

Reshaping and contouring the breasts are an important part of this procedure. No uncomfortable bindings or bras are needed after the surgery. These devices are ineffective. The technique of surgery will determine the shape of the breast.

Careful attention and time is taken when closing the incisions in surgery to achieve minimal scarring. This is a very important part of the surgery. We encourage our patients to wear a special, discreet skin colored tape after surgery. It is comfortable and aids with wound healing, while hiding the incisions.

A rapid recovery

Most patients resume normal activity within a few days and report only mild discomfort. This procedure can often be performed at the end of the week allowing many patients to return to work on Monday.
